Floating Down The Russian River

A few weekends ago it was a record-breaking 105 degrees in San Francisco, a great weekend for a trek to the Russian River to cool off. We brought some floating rafts, beer, and snacks. Our favorite spot is in Guerneville on River Road (Hulbert Creek). A mile west from the local Safeway, look for a dirt parking lot on the left and park. From the parking lot, head toward the river. If you stay closer to the houses on the left you’ll see posted signs for the beach. Check out the algae warnings before you go. Here are some additional places to go swimming that I haven't tried yet. Happy Floating!!
